History & Analytics

FloWords keeps a record of your transcriptions and provides insights into your usage patterns. Review past work, copy previous transcriptions, and understand how you use voice-to-text.

Transcription History

Section titled “Transcription History”

Accessing History

Section titled “Accessing History”
  1. Click FloWords menu bar icon
  2. Select View History
  3. History window opens

History View

Each entry shows:

Working with History

Copy Previous Transcription

Section titled “Copy Previous Transcription”
  1. Open History
  2. Find the transcription you need
  3. Click the Copy button
  4. Text is copied to clipboard
  5. Paste wherever needed

Search History

Section titled “Search History”

Find specific transcriptions:

  1. Open History
  2. Use the Search bar at top
  3. Enter keywords or phrases
  4. Results filter in real-time

  • Original vs Enhanced: Compare versions (if enhanced)
  • Metadata: Model, language, duration, timestamps
  • Application Context: Where it was recorded

FloWords tracks your voice-to-text activity:

Total Transcriptions

How many recordings you’ve made.

Words Transcribed

Total word count across all transcriptions.

Time Saved

Estimated time saved vs typing.

Accuracy Rate

How often you use transcriptions without edits.

Viewing Analytics

  1. Open Settings > History
  2. Click View Analytics
  3. See your usage dashboard

Managing History

Storage Settings

Control how much history FloWords keeps:

Configuring Retention

  1. Open Settings > History
  2. Find Data Retention section
  3. Set your preferences:
    • History Duration
    • Maximum Entries
  4. Click Apply

Auto-Cleanup

Enable automatic cleanup of old entries:

  1. Go to Settings > History
  2. Enable Auto-Cleanup
  3. Set retention period
  4. Old entries are removed automatically

Clear History

Section titled “Clear History”

Delete all transcription history:

  1. Go to Settings > History
  2. Click Clear All History
  3. Confirm the action
  4. All history is deleted

Selective Deletion

Section titled “Selective Deletion”

Delete specific entries:

  1. Open History
  2. Find the entry to delete
  3. Click the delete icon
  4. Confirm deletion

Disable History

Section titled “Disable History”

Stop saving transcriptions:

  1. Go to Settings > History
  2. Toggle Save History OFF
  3. New transcriptions won’t be saved

Export Options

Export Workflow

  1. Open History
  2. Select entries (or all)
  3. Click Export
  4. Choose format
  5. Select destination
  6. Click Save

Backup Schedule

Set up automatic backups:

  1. Go to Settings > History > Backup
  2. Enable Automatic Backup
  3. Set frequency (daily, weekly)
  4. Choose backup location
  5. Save settings

Troubleshooting

History Not Saving

Section titled “History Not Saving”
  • Check Save History is enabled
  • Verify storage location is writable
  • Check available disk space
  • Restart FloWords

Search Not Finding Entries

Section titled “Search Not Finding Entries”
  • Check date filter range
  • Verify type filter settings
  • Try simpler search terms
  • Check if entries were deleted

Slow History Loading

Section titled “Slow History Loading”
  • Large history may take time
  • Enable auto-cleanup
  • Reduce retention period
  • Export and clear old entries

Export Failing

Section titled “Export Failing”
  • Check destination is writable
  • Ensure enough disk space
  • Try different format
  • Export smaller selection

  • Review daily: Check morning’s transcriptions
  • Search often: Find and reuse previous content
  • Export regularly: Backup important transcriptions
  • Clean periodically: Remove unnecessary entries

  • Peak hours: Schedule important dictation accordingly
  • Model performance: Identify best models for your use
  • App usage: Understand your workflow patterns
